A study attempted to find a relationship between people’s birthdays and dates of admission for treatment of alcoholism. In a sample of 200 admissions, 11 were within 7 days of the person’s birthday; 24 were between 8 and 30 days, inclusive; 69 were between 31 and 90 days, inclusive; and 96 were more than 90 days from the person’s birthday. Find appropriate expected numbers of admissions, and perform a chi-square goodness-of-fit test to test the hypothesis that admission is unrelated to a person’s birthday.
